Our Family Trip to Butler Park

After the Choo Choo visit on Saturday, we decided to head to a new park just on the other side of the river from the train station. There is good viewing of trains from there, if your timing is right. Max was still quite upset about the passenger train leaving, so if there was to be a freight train coming by anytime soon, this was the best place to view it.

We couldn't believe our luck! Almost as soon as we arrived and entered the park, the sounds of a CHOO CHOO began to make their way to our ears. We stood and watched for quite a while, but eventually it was time to move on.

After the choo choo lost its luster, Max decided to explore the park again. There is a really neat hill that has a winding path to the top. Max had no patience for a winding paved path - he just tore up the side. The hill is a cool paved landing with benches surrounding. Max made friends with an adorable doggy, who soon departed as his owners led him/her down the hill. Max was unhappy to see the doggy leave, and tried to follow it.

We came back up the hill in time to find a fitness boot camp had run to the top of the hill and were doing some warming up of their upper bodies. Max decided to join in :)

Here is video of these Max adventures. Beware the ending is a little jumpy - we were all running down the hill then.
