Max is a dog?

Max has such great friends. He doesn't know it yet, but he has so many people that care about him already. For instance, Friday afternoon we went to visit our friends Janae and Xavier Leffler, and Xavier presented Max with a little gift that he had personally picked out for him. It was an adorable little monkey, as you can see here. Although he couldn't verbalize it yet, Max was surely appreciative of his gift and looks forward to being able to play with it when he develops the ability to grasp items intentionally. Most certainly he will first examine the ever important quality of taste, but so far he has been focusing on his tasting his fist.

I received an email from Janae this afternoon that gave us some insight into what Xavier thinks of Max. It pointed out that the toy is not actually designed for humans, but instead for dogs. Upon further inspection of the little monkey, I found the label that confirmed her warning.

Xavier has expressed some jealousy when his Mama has held Max in the past, but does Xavier actually think Max is a dog?
