Nick learning to eat finger foods

Nick has been eating purred vegetables for a few weeks now, so it was time to start trying soft finger foods.

He is not convinced this is a good idea and most often looks at me as though I'm trying to feed him poison. My argument of, "it's the same thing as your sweet potato purée, just in most solid form..." doesn't seem to sway him though.
